QuantAscent Technologies LLC ("we") runs quantascent.io and the QuantAscent desktop application. This page explains, in plain language, what information we collect, what leaves your computer, and what we do with it.
What we collect
- Release-updates signup: the email address you submit, so we can notify you about major releases.
- Account (sign-in): your name, email address, and sign-in details, handled by our sign-in provider (Clerk). While you are signed in, a session token identifies you to our server.
- Billing: your card and subscription are handled by our payment processor (Stripe). Your card number never touches our systems. We keep your Stripe customer ID against your account and receive your subscription status and billing history.
- Technical basics: standard server logs (IP address, browser type) used for security and abuse prevention. We also use Cloudflare Web Analytics for aggregate, cookieless page-view counts; it does not identify you.
- Advertising measurement (website only): quantascent.io uses Google's advertising tag so we can tell whether a visit came from one of our Google or YouTube ads, and whether that visit led to a new account. Google sets cookies and receives your IP address, browser details, and the pages you visit on quantascent.io. We have turned off Google's ad-personalization setting for this tag, so we don't use it to build lists of visitors to re-target with ads. The desktop app contains no advertising or analytics code. You can block the tag with any ad blocker, or manage Google's ad settings at adssettings.google.com.
What the desktop app sends us
- Subscription check: about once a minute while you are signed in, the app asks our server whether your subscription is active. It sends only a signed sign-in token. No portfolio data is sent.
- Data packs and app updates: the app downloads market-data packs and app updates from our server. Nothing about you or your portfolio is sent with those downloads.
- Bug reports, only when you send one: your description, basic system information, and the recent app log. Before upload, the app masks account IDs, your sign-in email, and balances, and shows you the masked log so you can see exactly what will be sent. Bug reports are deleted from our server 90 days after submission.
What never leaves your computer
Your brokerage credentials, holdings, trades, strategies, and portfolio history stay in the desktop app on your own computer. The app talks to your broker through your broker's own software running on your machine. We do not receive your brokerage credentials and cannot see your brokerage account.
How we use it
We use your email to send the updates you asked for and to operate your account, the subscription check to keep the app unlocked while your subscription is active, and bug reports to fix the problem you reported. That's it. We do not sell your information or use it for third-party marketing. The only data an advertising company receives is the website measurement described above, which goes to Google so we can tell whether our ads work.
Service providers
We rely on a small number of providers to run the service: sign-in (Clerk), payment processing (Stripe), email delivery, hosting/CDN, and advertising measurement on the website (Google). They process your data only as needed to provide the service to us.
Unsubscribing and deleting your account
Every update email tells you how to opt out — or just email us. To delete your account, write to
hello@quantascent.io. Deleting your account cancels your subscription and removes your usage record from our server.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters, we'll say so in an update email and revise the date at the top of this page.
